ALT was founded based on our belief in the core principles of marketing. Our experiences span the entire marketing mix having worked in agencies and internal marketing teams. We understand the challenges that marketers face and we value the expertise of specialist agencies but far too often we see evidence of siloed planning and we believe that we make things better by thinking holistically and executing expertly.

We operate as a collective with our core team of 6 sitting at the heart of your business and we have forged official partnerships with like minded businesses and individuals who are expert in their fields. This ensures that you always work with the best but that we can offer exceptional value as we do not carry the large overheads of a traditional agency.

David Haggerty

Founder

David has worked in Marketing since 2005 and spent his career in the agency world. Starting out in media and going on to become Strategy Director at Carat, he then moved on to Dog Digital to create and lead the Strategic Planning function of the agency. He has worked across all aspects of marketing agency services including; Research & Insight, Strategy Development, Creative & Advertising, Campaign Ideation, Proposition Development, Web Design & Build and Measurement & Evaluation.

With such a breath of marketing experience, David is ideally placed to inform and guide the direction of your marketing activity and ensure that the execution and delivery remains true to the strategy. Key client experience includes; Visit California, Garnier, Scottish Power, Heineken, Baillie Gifford, Bet365, Postcode Lottery and UEFA.

Tala Cook

Director of Channel Planning

Tala has been a marketing practitioner for over a decade and brings a wealth of experience to the ALT Management Board. Having worked both in-house and in agencies, Tala’s seen the world of marketing through a number of lenses. Her hands on experience includes social media strategy development, content and copy creation and digital channel planning in the agency environment and E-commerce and direct to customer marketing on the brand side.

Her creative flair coupled with commercial acumen means that her work is both inspiring and outcome focused and she combines the art and science of marketing communications and channel delivery. Tala has worked at some of Scotland’s top agencies and she’s also run her own social media consultancy business. Some of Tala’s key clients throughout her career include; Nissan, L’Oreal, UEFA, Vodafone, Curves Gym, Garnier and BrewDog.

Laura Haggerty

Managing Director

Laura has over 15 years of experience in Marketing and has worked for some of the world’s leading agencies and brands including Carat, Skyscanner and iProspect. Laura’s intimate knowledge of the inner workings of both agency and client environments, coupled with her experience across the marketing mix gives her a unique view of how to get the best from your marketing efforts.

Laura comes with a detailed knowledge of media, web design and build, analytics & data and social & content planning. She has delivered the performance and media strategies for large global brands and SME’s alike. Key clients throughout her career include ScottishPower, Skyscanner, ScottishEnterprise, Scottish Government, VisitScotland and Garnier.

Ross Hope

Client Development Partner
Ross has over 20 years experience of working in advertising and marketing. Specialising in media planning and buying Ross has worked at a senior level in the industry for over a decade, first as a Media Director at MediaVision, which at the time was Scotland’s largest media independent buying agency, and latterly at Carat Scotland where he was Communications Planning Group Head.
Ross honed his excellent client relationship skills across a wide spectrum of businesses and sectors including Lidl, City of Edinburgh Council, Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, Scotmid, Semi Chem, Great Run Company, Amplifon and Scottish Citylink. Ross also worked as the main agency client contact with Barrhead Travel for 16 years and Reach Scotland for 18. Managing and mentoring many colleagues over the years while always instilling in them the importance of building profitable business relationships.
Outside of work, and living in the world’s “Fringe” city Ross also has a keen passion for the dramatic arts. He has acted in and directed numerous plays over the years. Two of which (Jerusalem and the Wonderful World of Dissocia) were given 5* reviews.

Emma Mulcahy

Digital Marketing Executive

As Digital Marketing Executive for ALT, Emma has worked in the various areas of the digital industry for almost five years. First finding her feet in a PR agency, she then went on to specialise in social media marketing before finessing her industry writing skills for an advertising publication. Emma’s creative approach to projects alongside her keen research and reporting skills leave her well-positioned to create and execute content across numerous channels for clients. While developing her professional skillset, Emma has also volunteered her marketing and media knowledge to local NGOs and charities and has written for established industry publications on a freelance basis. Key clients that Emma has worked on during her career include; Curves Gym, Garnier, L’Oreal, The Macallan and The Drum.  

Julie Auld

Digital Marketing Executive

Julie has worked across Digital Marketing and PR for almost a decade. Having worked both in-house and agency, and across several industries from music events to corporate finance, Julie uses her experience to bring an integrated approach to client projects. Julie began her career as a press co-ordinator for the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival before freelancing as a social media manager. Since making the move to agency work, Julie has honed her skills across Digital Marketing exploring content, social media management, PPC, SEO and Email. Key clients across Julie’s career include The Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, Prickly Thistle Tartan, Maven Capital, MacRoberts LLP, IOM and Edinburgh Zoo.
